i found myself at a Best Buy when i was 22 & bought my first camera. i told my dad i wanted to be a photographer and he said, and i quote- “come on Mad, you need a career with a steady income. You need college”. Wah. i literally was in college for a semester just to make him happy. That’s the thing though.. why wasn’t i making myself happy?
i’m still figuring myself out...
i’m a wedding photographer who travels the world for fun & i still feel like i’m meant for more. i’m stuck. But sometimes it’s okay to not always have it figured out?
it’s been tough for me these last couple of years to merge all the things i’m passionate about into 1 career & that’s why i sometimes feel so lost. like really lost.
But to be honest, i know that’s when i’ll truly find myself.
like when i’m sitting in my room i vision my life as a fashion photographer or even a creative director.
I have come to figure this out-
in life sometimes we think... oh if i had that i could be successful or if i had a certain amount of followers i’m considered super successful & happy. But to be honest, all you need is your own idea & run with it.
Whatever you want is possible. It may not come over night (i always had a tough time understanding this) but it will come. Stay true to yourself and your vision.
No ideas are bad ideas.
YOU HAVE 1 LIFE.
ONE! it’s fckin wild
Ways that have helped me figure myself out :)
-Lay on your bed & just listen to your thoughts.
-Click on your saved pictures on Instagram. What are you most interested in?
-What do you do with your spare time? Is it benefiting your life/goal?
-When you’re driving to work turn off your radio… where does your mind wonder?
-I stopped comparing myself to people on Instagram. I figured out the difference in comparing & being inspired.
