BE YOUR OWN KANYE

In a world full of  wannabe Kayne groupies and Instagram models. Where do you “fit in”? Finding your style can we tricky. You wanna fit in yet stand out right? So where do you start is the question. This is going to be one of my favorite blog post because it’s the advise/thoughts you never hear. Clothing is causing such a huge impact to this generation for all the right reasons & I am here for it!!!! One thing I’ve come to realize is when you’re out shopping.. stop texting your friends and getting their opinion on what will be on YOUR body. Man I can not tell you how many times I tried on a pair of pants that I loved then got a second opinion and my confidence got shot down by a text that said “eh they’re okay”. Woah woah woah, hold up and rewind, why are we waiting to get the thumbs up from someone else about our own style?? Have a vision of an outfit, wear it then rock the shit out of it. Your clothing is a reflection of you and your mood. Remember your confidence is key. Wear what will make you feel good, cool and stylish all at the same time. Do you know how good I feel when I’m in a tshirt, funky pants and vans? It’s a pretty cool feeling knowing you’re swagged out in your own way. Start owning it. Speaking of being swagged out in your own way.. who says only buying name brand makes you look expensive. Don’t get me wrong there are so many designers I wish I could buy from every single day. Sure I will drop $80 on a shirt from Madewell or $190 on a jacket from Urban Outfitters but let me introduce you to another option, thrifting. Some may think it’s gross to buy used clothing and others, like me will be stoked on finding a good bargain. A couple months ago I picked up a pair of Levi jeans & Calvin Klein jeans, probably totaling out to be around $300 in the real world but the thtifying world allowed me to get them both for a total of $8. WHAT IN THE ACTUAL F! i was hyped. Just last week I picked up a Tommy Hilfigure long sleeve for $20 originally $92. Thrifting doesn’t make you cheap and it doesn’t make you any less cool than any of us. It’s being smart & creative. This weekend try to go out to your nearest Thrift store and you’ll be surprisedat what you find. All the clothing is pre washed but not the shoes.. you dont want to get some kind of fungus, yikes. I feel like alot of us feel like you need Balencigias to look cool & you need to dress like Kim k head to toe to feel trendy. No shame in that because everyone loves a good trend but be creative and put your own spin on it. Speaking of trend, Kayne West. Man did he know how to create an empire for the fashion industry. When he first came out with his Yeezy clothing I think everyone was hatin a little by it looking “homeless” but now that he has evolved into this fashion icon, I applaud him. The illustration in his head to come up with something so raw and so dope is how we should all treat our sense of fashion. Be your own Kayne West and create your own movement. When I look in my closet I feel INSPIRED. Every morning I can literally vision an outfit and ill put it together. A secret recipe: Now i’m going to share with you a secret on how I get inspired for my outfits rather than looking at an instagram blogger that is pretty much doing what all the other bloggers are wearing, boring. Pinterest. Yup, I feel like most of us have forgotten about this small section of the internet. I can not tell you how many times I make my way to Pinterest for inspo on just about anything but certainly for outfits. Lets say I feel like wearing something casual cute but don’t really know what to pull out of my closet. I will literally search “casual cute outfit inspo” & boom it’s like a world of unknown pictures appearing right before your eyes. My go to searches are “casual cute outfit inspo“ & “cute insta outfit” and they never get old. When you start making a statement that’s when you stand out. When you try to fit in that’s when you get lost in the sea of everyone trying to swim to the top to be noticed. I hope this helped guide you in the direction. Own it!!
